Hi,
I've just finished a personal portfolio image done in Blender and VB25.
Main purpose was practicing texture paint and shading.

Modelled in Blender ( head meshes from makehuman , sculpted in blender )
Most materials use handpainted B/w controlmaps to mix photo textures from cgtextures (modified and made tileable)

Smoke-fog rendered in Blender volumetrics.

Rendered with VrayBlender at 2496x1404.about 3 million faces, no displacement , rendertime 6 hours on a q6600@3ghz 8gb ram , Ubuntu 11.04 .

With infos about the small python plugin i wrote to use B/W handpainted controlmaps to mix photo textures and quickly create the various channels for a shader. Tthere are some really nice possibilities for artists customizing their tools in VrayBlender.
